Goyder Battery
Overview
Goyder Battery is a standalone battery energy storage system located within the Goyder Renewables Zone, adjacent to ElectraNet’s Bundey Substation.
Stages 1 and 2 are equally sized at 227 MW / 907 MWh and currently under construction. Site works will commence in August 2026 with operations targeted for 2028.
The remaining stages are currently under development.
Project lifecycle
CONSTRUCTION PARTNERS
Neoen is the developer of the Goyder Renewable Energy Zone and the owner and operator of the projects.
For the Goyder Battery, our construction partners are Tesla and UGL.
Tesla is responsible for the manufacture, supply, and commissioning of the Megapack 3 battery units.
UGL is the balance-of-plant contractor, delivering the civil and electrical infrastructure required to support the project. This includes civil works, underground electrical infrastructure, and high-voltage infrastructure such as the substation and overhead transmission line.
