Following the announcement of Stage 1 of the Goyder Battery in December 2025, Neoen has now confirmed Stage 2 will also proceed, doubling the project’s storage capacity. Together, the two stages will form a 454 MW / 1,814 MWh in South Australia’s Mid North on the land of the First Peoples of the River Murray and Mallee Region.

Construction activities are expected to commence in August 2026, creating more than 150 jobs during peak construction and at least 12 ongoing operational roles. Goyder Battery is expected to begin operating in 2028, helping to support a reliable electricity supply and increase the contribution of renewable energy to South Australia’s energy network.
