GOYDER SOUTH NOW GENERATING 412 MW!
Built in two stages, the Goyder South Wind Farm is now generating at its full capacity of 412 MW! It is the largest wind farm in South Australia and Neoen’s global portfolio, and supported by three long-term power purchase agreements.
Goyder South is expected to generate 1.5 TWh of renewable energy annually. This contribution is set to boost wind generation in South Australia by more than 20%, supporting the State towards its target of 100% net renewables generation by 2027.
It has created over 400 construction jobs, 12 permanent, long-term opportunities and invested more than $100 million in supply chain outcomes in the Mid North region. We extend our thanks to all the host landowners, Ngadjuri people, neighbours, community members across the Goyder region, the Regional Council of Goyder and everyone in the Mid North region who has supported us since 2018.
We look forward to continuing our engagement with everyone to deliver the project’s community-benefit sharing program and as we move forward with developing the next stages of our Goyder Renewables Zone.
Tom Koutsantonis, SA Government’s Minister for Energy and Mining, said: “I commend Neoen on this significant investment and seamless development of what is now the biggest wind farm in South Australia. We are well on track for South Australia to meet its goal of 100 per cent net renewables generation by 2027, and projects such as this are at the vanguard of that ambition. Projects like Neoen’s Goyder South Wind Farm highlight the quality of the wind resource here in South Australia, and when combined with abundant solar, it becomes clear why renewable energy companies from around the world are lining up to invest in South Australia.”
